The Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk host CajunFest April 17 at Headquarters Field on Corps Road from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
There will be entertainment for all ages with inflatables, pony rides, face painting, balloon animals, military static displays and more.
The highlight of the event will be a parachute jump onto Headquarters Field by the Silver Wings, a parachute demonstration team from Fort Benning, Ga.
Cajun Zydeco favorite Wayne Toups headlines the musical portion of the program following opening acts by Boomerang and Louisiana FIYA.
A gumbo cook-off takes place in conjunction with CajunFest and is open to the first 10 teams to register. Entry fee for teams interested in showing off their culinary skills is $25. Visit www.fortpolkmwr.com to download rules and a registration card.
