Fingers getting itchy for something new to do? Don’t worry, Fort Polk’s Arts and Crafts Center has announced its March class schedule. The center always welcomes new students, so stop by and get creative.
*Matting and framing class — Visit the center Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or March 16 from 5-8 p.m. to get a picture perfect project started. The class fee is $5 plus the cost of supplies. One project only please.
*Crocheting class for beginners — Add that special touch to your kitchen with a towel topper for a dishcloth. The two-day class is held Thursday and March 18 from 1-4 p.m. The class fee is $12. Students should bring crocheting or knitting yarn of choice (medium thickness) and crocheting needles (size 9).
*Tole painting class — The class project is sign painting — such as a welcome sign. The class takes place March 16 and 17 from 4-7 p.m. The class fee is $20 and includes all supplies.
*Sewing class for beginners — Make something pretty to lay your head on by making your choice of a pillow or pillow case. The class takes place March 25 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and the fee is $12 per student. Supplies such as choice of fabric, stuffing for pillow and thread must be brought to the class. Ruffles and lace are optional. Preregister by March 23. There is a maximum of four students per class.
*Floral design class for beginners — Jump into the colors of warmer weather with a spring wreath or vase flower arrangement. The class takes place March 27 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and the fee is $25. Some supplies are included. Prepay and preregister by March 24. Students can pick up supply list at preregistration. The cost for supplies is $40.
